CONDITIONS WE TREAT

If it hurts,
we have seen it.

Knee pain usually reflects load, not damage. Something in your training, work, or activity changed faster than the knee could adapt. Treatment starts with finding that cause, then rebuilding strength and tolerance.

Patellofemoral Pain Runner’s Knee Patellar Tendinopathy IT Band Syndrome Meniscus Injuries ACL and MCL Sprains Knee Osteoarthritis Post-Surgical Knee Rehab

Not sure your problem fits the list?

This is not an exhaustive list, and many people arrive with overlapping symptoms. Call us at 613-255-5232 and our team will tell you whether physiotherapy is the right starting point before you book.

GOOD TO KNOW

Questions we hear
every week.

Runner’s knee, or patellofemoral pain, is pain around or behind the kneecap. It is typically aggravated by running, stairs, squatting, and prolonged sitting. It is usually a load and strength issue rather than structural damage, which is why it responds well to a graded strengthening program.

Often yes, with modifications. Reducing volume, adjusting pace or terrain, and increasing cadence slightly can keep you running while symptoms settle. Your physiotherapist sets clear limits based on how the knee responds during and after the run.

Patellofemoral pain commonly improves over six to twelve weeks with consistent strengthening. Tendon problems often take longer, around three months or more, because tendons adapt slowly. Recovery is faster when the strengthening is progressed properly.

Most knee pain does not require imaging. A clinical assessment identifies the irritated structure in the majority of cases. Scans are useful when a significant ligament or meniscus injury is suspected or when symptoms do not respond as expected.

Properly dosed strengthening reduces knee pain rather than aggravating it. Some muscle soreness is normal. Your program starts at a load your knee tolerates and progresses as symptoms settle and strength improves.

Yes. Exercise therapy is recommended as first-line care for knee osteoarthritis, and a structured strengthening program reliably reduces pain and improves function. It also prepares you well if a joint replacement is eventually needed.
