Most episodes of neck pain improve substantially within a few weeks, though recovery varies with the cause, previous neck problems, and how early treatment begins. Symptoms that persist beyond three months respond well to a structured, progressive program.

After an injury or an unusually heavy day, the strained tissues become inflamed and stiff, so pain and restriction often peak twenty four to seventy two hours later. This delay is normal and does not mean something has been made worse.

Guided movement is better than rest for most neck pain. Gentle, early motion within your comfort limits reduces stiffness and helps the neck recover faster. Prolonged rest and collars are associated with slower recovery in most cases.

Yes. The upper neck joints refer pain into the head, which produces cervicogenic headaches. Dizziness can come from the neck itself or from the inner ear, so we assess both and treat what we find.

In Ontario, physiotherapy after a motor vehicle accident is generally covered through your auto insurer. Our team completes the required forms and communicates with the insurer so you can begin treatment without delay.

Most neck pain does not require imaging. Scans are recommended when specific clinical signs are present. Your physiotherapist screens for those signs at the first visit and refers you on if imaging is needed.
